Formulated specifically for equine skin care, the Formula 44 line is designed to help you manage common and stubborn skin concerns including scratches, rain rot, dermatitis, fungal skin conditions, cannon crud, pastern crud, rubs, and dry, flaky skin.
Step 1: Cleanse
Start with Formula 44 Shampoo for gentle and effective cleansing of affected areas. Apply undiluted to the legs and affected areas, or dilute for whole-body bathing. Formula 44 Shampoo can also be incorporated into your regular spring and fall bathing routine for preventative skin care.
Step 2: Choose your Formula 44
Once the skin is clean and thoroughly dry, choose Formula 44 Ointment or Spray based on the area and application you need.
Formula 44 Ointment is a true ointment that stays in place and creates a protective barrier over damaged skin. It’s especially useful for the legs and stubborn areas where you want longer-lasting coverage and protection from dirt and debris.
Formula 44 Spray is ideal for larger areas and hard-to-reach places, including the roots of the mane and tail and skin beneath feathers. It’s also a convenient choice when your horse needs to wear a blanket, boot, or wrap after application.
